Especially for Kids
Here at Trinity, we have an Education Wing with a Nursery for our Pre-Schoolers, a Play Room for older kids, a large Craft Room, and our Godly Play classroom. Our roster of talented teachers includes both retired and “active duty” professional educators, as well as a core group of dedicated volunteers. Kids spend each week doing something different:
The core of our children’s Sunday School Program, our Godly Play curriculum utilizes small wooden characters to demonstrate Bible stories in a subdued, playful manner. Children are asked to envision themselves in the story, and relate their personal tales as a way of connecting their stories to the stories they hear.
Creative Play builds upon these lessons by encouraging the students to make or create their own art projects, skits and games. We strive to help connect the Bible stories to the children’s own lives, and to develop critical thinking as well as creativity. It’s often messy, but it’s always fun!
Occasional use of our Holy Moly Curriculum utilizes DVD illustrations of Bible tales in a non-verbal format that makes it easy for kids to see the story on-screen and narrate it for themselves as the action unfolds. Well-suited for holidays and special occasions when we have lots of visitors.
Spirit of Service (vacation Bible school)
During summer of 2014 we learned to follow in Jesus’ footsteps through a service themed vacation Bible school.
