The purpose of this ministry team is to bring to the awareness of the congregation local needs, specifically among children, youth and the elderly. Trinity United Methodist is part of the Sequim United Parish, a group of three Sequim churches—-St Luke’s Episcopal Church and Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church— who join together to meet human needs in our community. The Local Missions Team of Trinity supports the Light Lunch program providing a free lunch each Saturday at St Luke’s. Also, the team shares in the administration and support of Sequim Community Aid and the Dungeness Health and Wellness Clinic, a free medical clinic.

Community Dinners

Trinity holds a free Community Dinner on the last Thursday of each month at a time when many find their budgets and energy are strained. The meal serves the needs of many in our community. TUMC members and friends, with generous assistance from the Sequim Food Bank, provide the food each month. Volunteers cook, set up and decorate tables, serve food, frequently provide entertainment and do all the clean up. It’s a great meal with a diverse following, including those with disabilities who feel safe at TUMC, homeless and low income guests and those who are seeking community and a social time. Members and friends host tables and there is always a warm and friendly atmosphere. We serve families with high chairs and booster seats available and lots of attention for kids. Volunteers as well as guests are always welcome; reservations are taken by phone the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before each dinner at 683-5367 or via email to dinners@sequimtumc.com.
