Appointment of new pastor

March 29, 2020

Dear Sequim Trinity UMC

After a wonderful phone introduction between the Staff Parish Relations Committee and the person the Bishop wished to appoint as our new pastor it is with great joy that I share with you the following from our District Superintendent Rev. Mark Galang:

26 March 2020

Patricia Guthrie
Chair, Staff-Parish Relations Committee
Trinity United Methodist Church
100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim WA 98382

Dear Patricia,

I am writing this letter to share with you that Bishop Elaine Stanovsky intends to appoint the Rev. Bradley Beeman as Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, effective 1 July 2020.

Rev. Beeman entered the ministry in the United Methodist Church in 1992 as a Full-time Licensed Local Pastor. He went to Claremont School of Theology, where he graduated with honors. He was also commissioned and ordained in the California Pacific Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. In 2008, he came back to Washington to serve our church in Auburn before he was appointed to serve as pastor of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Bellevue, WA in July 2011.

Feel free to announce this to the congregation beginning Sunday, 29 March 2020.

I also pray for God’s grace and abundant blessing on the Rev. William Green and his family especially during this time of transition. Kindly join me in thanking Pastor Bill for his faithful service in your church for the past 9 years.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and help you all in becoming the radically welcoming community of faith that seeks to make a difference in the greater community.

With love and grace,

Rev. J. Mark Galang
District Superintendent

We have been assured by Rev. Mark that there will be an appropriate amount of time for us to say farewell to Pastor Bill.

Dorothy and I are so excited to meet all of you. The move to Trinity is a dream come true and an answered prayer for both of us. I want you to know how humbled I am to follow someone as gifted as Pastor Bill. I know that he and Jenny will be missed on so many levels, but please know that they will be back for visits and we will welcome them with open arms.

Finally, I simply ask that as we prepare to join you, that you pray for Aldersgate United Methodist in Bellevue. They will find out today that I’m leaving. Please pray for them through this time. Friends, your gracious hospitality has already been felt, and I can’t wait to get to know all of you. In the meantime, God’s grace and peace be with you.
