Let’s give Trinity some TLC!

Come on out to Trinity TLC where we do light maintenance around the church while sharing in fellowship. We meet every two weeks, and our next meeting is tomorrow, Friday, 25 June at 9:30 AM for a couple of hours. We will be cutting grass, doing light maintenance and upkeep, some springtime work, and of course having a cup of coffee and light eats. All are welcome! For more info, call Andy Pitts at 804-724-3401.

Help Wanted!

The Trustees would like to have a video inventory of all Trinity “personal property” to use as a record in the event we have to make an insurance claim. We are looking for some folks who like to video and would be willing to seek out all our nooks and crannies to record on a thumb drive all of our “stuff.” If you are interested, or for more info, please call Andy Pitts at 804-724-3401.

Peace with Justice Sunday, June 27, 2021:

In Arizona border towns, communities facing social challenges are dramatically divided. In Liberian villages, citizens’ human rights are being violated. In local U.S. communities, women and girls are being bought and sold against their will. Moved by Christ’s love to pursue reconciliation and peace, honoring the dignity of every individual made in God’s image, the United Methodist Church is unwilling to turn a blind eye to injustice

Although individually we may lack the resources to effect change in a broken world, our giving is vital for the UMC to continue our global ministries of reconciliation. The Peace with Justice Sunday offering enables the United Methodist Church to make a difference together by sowing seeds—and yielding fruit!—of peace. You may donate by issuing a check to Trinity UMC, indicating Peace w/Justice in the memo section. If you would like more information, go to:

A Basic First Aid Class

taught by Mark Bowes has been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Recycle Empty Inkjet and Laser Printer Cartridges

The recycle container for empty inkjet and laser printer cartridges and used cell phones is now in the church office. Besides helping the environment by recycling, the church is paid for every item donated. Thanks so much for your continued (or new) participation in this program!

New small group: Post COVID-19 – Redesigning My New Normal, in Christ

This is a small group developed for those who are vaccinated yet, for a variety of reasons, may feel reluctant to come out of sheltering. They may be feeling unsafe, confused, and unclear about the best approaches to take. They may know they need to reconnect with others but just cannot find the motivation.

If this is you, you’re not alone. It’s a nationwide issue and can be very challenging. Melody has been developing her own redesign and has wonderful strategies that work to share with you! Come and develop steps to create your individual reopening, done at your own pace. Come and learn professionally researched calming and healing tools in a safe and accepting atmosphere.

The group will be held on Zoom or in-person either Wednesday or Thursday, July 7th or 8th at noon, depending on the needs of the group.

To sign up or ask questions, contact Melody Romeo and indicate your interest and the best day for you. Space is limited. Email or call 360-461-5595. Please call this week so that we can determine the best date.

Safety Ministry and Medical Response Team Opportunity

As part of our Safety Ministry, TUMC has a Medical Response Team. Each Sunday one member of this team sits in the back of the sanctuary during worship with a Medical Kit. Each member performs this duty once a month. If there is a medical or mental health emergency, the person on duty makes sure the appropriate action is taken. Medical Response Team Members include individuals with advanced medical training; emergency medical technicians, or others with emergency medical training. Team members will be oriented to the Medical Kit, must be willing to have current basic first aid certification, and take a mental health first aid course. If you are willing to join the Safety Ministry or the Medical Response Team and need to take the basic first aid course or the mental health first aid course, you can get a scholarship to attend. To join the team or for more information, contact Kathleen Charters by emailing or calling 240-463-7598.

Volunteering to help with Portable Emergency Kitchen:

We have six people so far who have volunteered. Additional volunteers are welcome to train and help with one of the portable kitchens in the event of a major catastrophe. This kitchen would be deployed in the Sequim area where food would be provided and served. If you are interested, contact Jan Kreidler at 360-681-5027 or
